MY MAKEUP STASH: PRIMERS
5:57 PM
I'm going to start a new series called my make up stash on my blog where I will be talking about the make up that I own, each make up stash will feature a different category. This will not only give you insight to what I own but hopefully my opinions on certain products will help you or give you an idea of what to get next. In this make up stash, I will be talking about the primers I own, why I like them, and what I use them for.
I currently have 5 face primers, I used to have about 10 but you honestly don't need more than 1, I found it really hard to say goodbye to these ones and I do use them for a different purpose so I feel like I'm justified for owning 5.
MAYBELLINE Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser 22ml | £7.99
This is the only silicone based primer that I own, I use it when I feel like my pores are more visible or when I want this super smooth base underneath my foundation. I feel like it works very well when I have slighly more oily skin than normally (this doesn't happen often but still counts). It makes all the fine lines and wrinkles invisible.
RIMMEL Lasting Finish Primer 30ml | | £6.99
This doesn't actually do anything other than keep my face moisturized and soft throughout the day so I only use it when I don't need my make up to stay all day and my face is feeling really dry as it does makes it feel a lot more hydrated than it would feel like with just a moisturizer underneath my foundation.
NYX Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer | £12
This is my absolute favourite drugstore primer, not only it makes my face feel hydrated it does actually makes my makeup stay longer and feels so so velvety when you apply it it doesn't leave a white film on my face either.
L'OREAL Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer | £9.99
Like the name suggest, this is a pure light primer. It leaves my face incredibly luminised. I love to use it when I go out clubbing or going to special event where I want my face to look really dewy. You can either mix it in with your foundation or use it underneath the foundation. I personally prefer using it as a primer underneath my foundation as I feel like it works best for me that way.
ELIMINATE MAKE UP Diamond Heart Base Primer - Illumintating | £25.90
This is not as illuminating as the L'oreal primer, it gives a lot more natural effect and instead of making your face look really illuminased it makes it appear a lot lighter, and fresher which I really like about this primer. It has a salmon pink tint to it which I think is why is very different to other primers which tend to be just transparent, green or white. This is perfect on spring days and the days when you want your make up to look really fresh and natural.
Eye primers are also included in this makeup stash. I currently own 2 eye primers, and honestly I don't think you need more than that. Most days you can get away with just using concealer on your eyes to prime.
URBAN DECAY Eyeshadow Primer Potion | £16
This has forever been my favourite eyeshadow primer and I use it almost everyday as it makes all my eyeshadows even the cheapest ones stay on all day and look a lot more vibrant than they do without it underneath. I feel like whenever I use it I always have a good eyeshadow day.
MAYBELLINE Colour Tattoo 24h Creamy Mattes in Creme De Nude 93 | £4.99
I use this when I am going to be using light coloured eyeshadows as it gives me a perfectly flawless canvas to work with and cover everything that needs covering. It is a lot ticker than Urban Decay primer potion as this is an eyeshadow however it works great as a primer and is really similar to mac paint pot that a lot of youtubers are using to prime their eyes with.
This doesn't crease or move and makes your eyeshadow stay on all day or night.
