- Don't go to bed too late!
I know that staying up late can be tempting but I promise you, you will regret it in the morning when you're alarm rings and you feel like you have only just gone to bed.
- Try and not watch any TV/film/youtube before you go to sleep
It's nice to watch something right before bed, especially when you had a busy day and didn't get to watch your favourite shows etc. However watching TV before bed will not only wake you up, but chances are you will end up staying up till 3am because you can't stop yourself from watching an episode after episode
- Keep your work outside of your bedroom
Your bedroom should be a stress free zone, if you do your work in your bedroom whether it's college or uni work. You will end up associating your bedroom with the stress and you will never be able to go to bed without thinking about all the things you still need to do and therefore it will be harder to you to relax and just fall asleep.
- Try and not snooze your alarm
Instead, just get up, open your blinds and start your day. You might still feel tired but as soon as the light hits your face your body will realise it's morning and you will feel more awake.
- If you struggle to avoid pressing snooze, make sure you put your phone on the other side of your room before going to bed (somewhere where you can still hear it)
This will force you to get out of bed and the chances are you won't want to go back to bed especially if you remember to open your curtains.
- Have a shower as soon as you get out of bed
Nothing wakes you up like a shower, especially luke warm one. I guarantee you, as soon as you jump in the shower you will feel wide awake and ready to start your day!
This are just few steps that I take in order to ensure I get up early and get on with my day without feeling grumpy and tired all day.
